Zip Boiling and Chilled HydroTap with font

Zip Industries is an Australian company founded in 1947 as Zip Heaters. They produced low pressure boilers and heaters for domestic use then started producing instant water heaters, attaining the world’s first Instant Boiling Water Heater patent in 1975. Coming from Australia of course, chilled water is almost as important as boiling water and so Zip have established themselves as a dominant electric heating and chilling company for drinking water in the southern hemisphere. They have created a mind-boggling array of domestic, workplace, industrial water heating, chilling and filtering products for above and below the counter and so we are only going to look at domestic variants in this review.

Boiling Water Tap systems – are they for you?

Is a Boiling Water Tap for you?

The Boiling Water Tap (or steaming hot water tap in the US and instant boiling water tap in Australia) is going to set you back between a few hundred pounds (dollars) to a few thousand pounds, depending on the make, model and options. At its simplest, you can augment your existing kitchen sink arrangement with an additional boiling water tap, keeping the existing hot and cold. If you want the latest sink equipment, be prepared to choose cold, hot, boiling and chilled water. Water can be filtered or even purified and you can have sparkling chilled water too. You can even have an inset counter touch-screen menu, an iPhone-style remote or a touch-screen on the tap itself – all very 21st century!. Some of these boiling water tap features cost more than a bottom-end kitchen, but the high-end kitchens deserve nothing less. There are of course different manufacturers promoting their individualised system features and the team at boilingwatertap.org hope to make all this diverse data transparent to you. We are also going to bust a few myths about running costs and safety in future posts, but for now, let’s have a look at three great features a boiling water tap system affords you.

Why buy a Boiling Water Tap?

Boiling Water Taps are the latest kitchen ‘must have’.

Having a Boiling Water Tap in your Kitchen can be a great time saver and life changer. If you think of all the times you turn on the kettle, wait a while, and boil more water than you need then you’ll soon appreciate the convenience of a boiling water tap system.
Making hot drinks, boiling water for food prep and cooking, sterilising baby feed equipment as well as soaking stubborn grease and marks on pots and pans – it all gets a lot easier and quicker with a boiling water tap.

I can’t believe how much I use it now. It saves so much time  and fuel in not having to warm up vegetables to boiling point on the stove; and it’s a dream at getting baked-on stains off Pyrex and baking trays. Wouldn’t be without it!

They are easy to install, come in traditional and contemporary designs, child-proof, save energy and worktop space and, best of all, will provide instant boiling water at the turn of a tap. Some even provide filtered, chilled and sparkling water.
